On Sept. 17, the district held a ribbon-cutting ceremony during halftime at the
St. Anthony Village High School football game against Friday, to celebrate the newly renovated Dennison Stadium Field Complex.

As emcee that evening, Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille honored those who worked on the project and helped with the renovations and construction. Distinguished guests that helped fund the complex renovations were welcomed onto the field at halftime.

Elected officials representing the St. Anthony-New Brighton School Board and the City of St. Anthony attended the event and assisted with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Tonight, we are celebrating the years of combined efforts of several organizations and individuals that help make our new stadium what it is today,” said Dr. Corneille.

“There is something magical about the people we are going to honor tonight. They all had one vision— the vision to create a place for our community to come together—
a place to gather. On any given night, Central Park
is the epitome of our Village, this stadium is now the
anchor to that vision,” said Dr. Corneille.

Dr. Corneille also thanked and honored the Director of Athletics, Activities, Facilities and Transportation, Dr. Troy Urdahl, for his work at each stage of the project. From feasibility studies on synthetic turf and asphalt track, to meeting with local organizations and the City of St. Anthony to pull together funding sources, Dr. Urdahl personally took the lead and responsibility to ensure the construction process stayed on target and within budget. “On behalf of the St. Anthony-New Brighton School District and the community, we thank you for bringing this new complex to life,” said Dr. Corneille.

Before School Board Chair Laura Oksnevad cut the ribbon to officially commemorate the ceremony, Dr. Corneille announced to those in attendance, “We are incredibly grateful and proud to provide our schools and our entire community with this beautiful, state-of-the-art, multi-use athletic facility that will offer opportunities for involvement for years to come.”
