St. Anthony-New Brighton families,

Even though meals are free for all students ages 18 and younger through June 30, 2021, the number of families who qualify for educational benefits still impacts a portion of our state aid. Students in households that meet the free or reduced-price meal income guidelines generate compensatory revenue for our district. We are asking families to consider helping by completing the Application for Educational Benefits via Skyward by no later than Dec. 15, 2020. Only one application is needed per household.

This additional funding would help not only support compensatory revenue, but also Title I funding and other aids based on free and reduced counts.

How the compensatory revenue is used
Minnesota State Statute 126C.15 declares that compensatory revenue must be used to meet the needs of students who are behind their peers, such as through remedial instruction, instructional materials including digital learning and technology, bilingual programs and additional teachers and teacher aides. Submitted applications may also make teachers eligible for the federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program if they have outstanding college loans.

Remember, families must complete the online form via Skyward by no later than Dec. 15, so the district can calculate eligibility and report to the Minnesota Department of Education.
