St. Anthony-New Brighton families,

As we move through the next few days and weeks, our nation will be experiencing increasing levels of anxiety about the future. Every four years we elect a president. And this right to vote, to actively participate in our democratic republic, has been fought for by many. Our very first presidential election in 1788 had no political parties and there was no campaign. Since then we have had a peaceful transfer of power from president to president. This does not mean we have not engaged in hard-fought battles or differences of opinion; rather these differences have strengthened our democracy. In the United States, as voters, we select a leader who aligns with our vision. And, while those visions may not align with one another, we are intricately linked to one another.  

Regardless of the presidential election outcome, we will continue to be a strong support system for our students and our families. Our strategic priorities, who we are, what we value, and our racial equity work will reinforce our progress as a school community. We will welcome our students, inspire them, and encourage them, everyday.

We will remain present for our students and families. We will continue to provide consistency, routine, structure, and learning based on high expectations matched with high support. 

And, if I don’t say it enough, thank you for sharing your kids with us. We don’t take this responsibility lightly. To us, there is no such thing as somebody else’s kids. This is our mantra and we will keep showing up for them and our entire community. #SANBStrong.
